Acts 11: 26: “And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch”. One commentary explains: ... meaning “Christ’s people”. “Christ” was a mere personal name in gentile ears, whereas to the Jews it meant”Messiah” and they would not have called the followers of Jesus “Messiah’s people” ...
