The importance of an historical Adam

“.... one cannot build a historical gospel on a non-historical Adam.”

God's commands - deeper meaning

The Hebrew word for “command” in the commandments of God is tsav. The meaning of tsav is literally “attaching parts.” It means “hooks and nails” in our modern context; therefore, the commandments of God are the “attaching parts” that connect us to God. If we disobey the LORD, we are separated from Him and joined to the world. If we obey him, we are joined with Him and separated from the world.

Lausanne Kongres verklaring teen postmodernisme.

Cyclone Yasi “knocked them down, but not out”

8 photo’s here:

This reminds me of the Philips translation of 2 Corinthians 4:9-10, where he also uses the expression we as Christians are “knocked down but not out” by life’s difficulties.

CYCLONE YASI URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

“Tropical Cyclone Yasi a ‘Serious Threat’ to Queensland”, the reports say, and it is heading west from Vanuatu. It is expected to develop damaging winds around island and coastal communities between Cooktown and Yeppoon on Feb. 2, the weather bureau said. Please pray to God to calm the storm like Jesus did on the lake of Galilea.
