“Miriam is regarded as a hero, not because of her own greatness, but because she rested in faith for years and years and years, and her faith was rewarded, and her hope was realized. And she sang her songs--sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously.”
Mirjam die profetes, suster van Aäron, het 'n tamboeryn gevat en al die vroue het met tamboeryne agternageloop en gedans. Mirjam het vir hulle voorgesing: “Sing tot eer van die Here omdat Hy hoog verhewe is. Perd en ruiter het Hy in die see geslinger.” (Eks 15 verse 20-21)
