"You are unique... "

Read this on another blog (thanks Liza!) : "You are unique in all the world, rare, and without compare. The world awaits your insights. You are special.... Just like everybody else!" Somewhat synical - certainly not biblical....

NOT JUST A SET OF PRINCIPLES....

Other religions like Confucianism, Buddhism and Islam centre around a set of principles. At the centre of Christianity is not a set of principles, but a Person, Jesus Christ....

Maturity of character...

(Continuation of the previous posting) - Patiently endure any waiting time - don't faint or grow weary or become exhausted : "..... endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity)and character of this sort produces the habit of joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation..."(Romans 5:4a; Amplified Bible).

I want what I want...

Don't fall for this lie of the devil: "I want what I want and I want it NOW!"

Prayer

Quote

"Half a dozen men on their knees for 60 minutes waiting upon the Lord with the absolute conviction that they have no answer, that their human ideas and programmes are ineffective and bankrupt - they will accomplish more than 50 men around a table discussing problems for a whole year."
Alan Redpath

Some more info on the flowers at the top of the blog

The flowers at the top of the blog are Namaqualand daisies (Dimorphotheca sinuate). They are one of the loveliest garden plants. The striking orange flowers attract butterflies into the garden. Bees love this plant as they collect the nectar from the flowers. Namaqualand daisies will bring colour to the garden. They grow naturally in the winter rainfall areas of the country, usually in sandy places in Namaqualand and also in Namibia and are useful for rock gardens, dry banks and the front row of borders.

The desert-like area where they naturally grow, remind me of some favourite lines from Thomas Gray’s “Elegy written in a coutry churchyard”:

Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness on the desert air.

The flowers and bee on my blog...

Thank you, dear Liza, for beautifying my blog AND adding the bee to daisies... YOU are like that seemingly insignificant little insect, doing a most important job of pollinating flowers, without which there will be no seed, and no future flowers (as those who farm with sunflowers!)... May God bless you richly as you use your God-given talents to good use in His Kingdom!
