Can evolutionists be Christians?

Or: Can Christians be evolutionists? I know there are debates about defining evolution, so I will stick to "Darwinistic evolution". How does one's belief in this fundamentalistic evolution influence one's views of the Bible?

  1. The most important is that there will be different views of God. A fundamentalistic evolutionist will of course not see God's Hand anywhere in creation, not as Creator, nor as the One who lovingly cares for and supports creation.

  2. How will these two groups view man? A Bible believer will see man as created after the image of God, whereas an evolutionist will see him as (I like this one!) a higher form of primate.... "There is always something to be glad about" - said Pollyanna ;)))

  3. Another thing is how they view Scripture. Evolutionists, because they don't believe in God, may see the Bible as a collection of myths, whereas a Christian will see it as the word of God. This is especially clear in how differently they see the story of creation in the Book of Genesis.

  4. If an evoltionist does not believe in the Bible and consequently, the Biblical account of creation , Adam and Eve and the fall, then no redemption would be necessary, no Christ dying on the cross for our sins.....

  5. So tragic, so hope-less: according to evolutionists, there is no life hereafter with Christ our Saviour....
