Life in the Spirit

"He (the Holy Spirit) brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard: affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity; we develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshall and direct our energies wisely. " The Message, Gal 5:22

Celebrating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit...

Yes, that's tomorrow. In Rom 8 the Spirit and what He does is mentioned several times. "The resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a child-like "What's next, Papa?" God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are." (from Rom 8, The Message).

Run to God!

Don't assume that you know it all. "Trust God from the bottom of your heart". The Message Prov 3:5

Promises of God

Whatever God has promised gets stanped with the Yes of Jesus - 2 Cor 1:20, The Message

Freedom

Freedom does not just lie in the excercise of choice; it ultimately lies in the consequences of those choices. If I rob a bank, even the fear of being caught would mean the loss of my freedom

Saved and sanctified by faith

We are saved by faith and are being sanctified by faith. We are neither saved nor sanctified by how we behave but by how we believe (Gal 3:2)

The sufficiency of God's grace...

When Paul realized this, he said: "... I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strenght moving in on my weakness." (2 Cor 12:8, The Message)

Dealing with issues

Embrace your uniqueness. Embrace GOD!

Overcoming pain and weakness...

One would think that the best way of overcoming these, would be to fight them - not so: the best way is to embrace them.

Ascension Day blessings...

Stretching His arms, Jesus lifted His scarred hands. "...while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up into heaven." (Luke 24:51). Oh how sweet, how heartwarming, the knowledge of these very last actions of our loving Saviour!

Introspection does not illuminate...

Biblical understanding does not come by introspection. Only the Spirit of God can illuminate our minds to grasp Biblical Truths. "In Thy Light we see light" ( Ps 36:9)

Unregenerated man.,

Without regeneration by the Holy Spirit, man's understanding is darkened.,
